Frequently Asked Questions
Will this magazine work with all Ruger Mini-14 variants?
This ProMag magazine is designed to be compatible with standard Ruger Mini-14 rifles chambered in 5.56 NATO or .223 Remington. It is not designed for the Mini-14 Tactical or Ranch Rifle variants that use proprietary magazine patterns — always verify your specific model's feed system before purchasing.
Is this magazine truly California-legal, and what does "10/20" mean?
Yes — this magazine is blocked and pinned to hold a maximum of 10 rounds, making it compliant with California's magazine capacity restrictions. The "10/20" designation means the magazine uses a standard 20-round body but is permanently limited to 10-round capacity at the point of manufacture, so it fits and handles like a full-size magazine while remaining within legal limits.
How does the ProMag spring compare to factory Ruger magazines?
ProMag uses precision-wound, heat-treated chrome silicon wire springs that are engineered to maintain consistent tension over thousands of feed cycles. While factory Ruger magazines are the gold standard for guaranteed fit, ProMag's springs are designed to deliver comparable feed reliability and are backed by a lifetime warranty — making them a cost-effective and durable aftermarket alternative.

Mini 14 10/20 rounder
I know Mini's can be fussy with aftermarket mags. Doesn't seem to be the case with these. Feed adequately, seems robust. Will buy a few more.
