How long does it take for my order to ship after I place it?
Most in-stock orders are processed and shipped within 1–3 business days. Delivery time after that depends on your location and the shipping method selected at checkout. You'll receive a tracking number via email as soon as your order leaves our facility.
Which carriers do you use to ship firearms and ammo?
We ship firearms and ammunition through carriers that are authorized to handle these products, including UPS and FedEx. Handguns must ship via overnight service per federal regulations, while long guns and ammunition may ship ground. Carrier selection may vary based on your location and the items ordered.
Do you ship to all 50 states?
We ship to most states, but certain products — including specific firearms and ammunition types — are restricted in some jurisdictions. If your state, county, or city has laws that prohibit a particular item, we cannot ship it to you. We recommend reviewing any local regulations before placing your order, and feel free to contact us at sales@goodlandguns.com if you're unsure.
What happens if my package arrives damaged?
If your order arrives visibly damaged, please document it immediately with photos before opening or using the product, and contact us at sales@goodlandguns.com within 48 hours of delivery. We'll work with you to resolve the issue as quickly as possible, whether that means a replacement or a refund. Please do not attempt to use a damaged firearm under any circumstances.
Do I need to pass a background check to buy a gun from you?
Yes — federal law requires that all firearm purchases go through a licensed dealer (FFL), where a background check is conducted before the firearm can be transferred to you. Your receiving FFL will initiate this check when you pick up your firearm. We cannot ship a firearm directly to an individual customer's home.
How do I know what caliber ammo to buy for my gun?
The correct caliber for your firearm is stamped directly on the barrel or slide of the gun — match that marking exactly when selecting ammunition. If you're unsure or shopping for a new firearm, our team is happy to help guide you. You can reach us by phone at (805) 845-1406 or by email at sales@goodlandguns.com.
Is it worth buying ammo in bulk, and are there any limits?
Buying ammunition in bulk is a great way to save money per round and ensure you always have supply on hand for training or home defense. Purchasing limits vary by state and by product, so some jurisdictions may cap how much you can buy at one time. We'll apply any applicable restrictions automatically at checkout based on your shipping address.
What's the difference between steel-cased and brass-cased ammo, and which should I choose?
Brass-cased ammunition is generally more reliable, easier to reload, and better suited for semi-automatic pistols and rifles where consistent extraction matters. Steel-cased ammo is typically less expensive and works well for high-volume range training, but some firearms and ranges do not accept it. For self-defense or carry use, we recommend brass-cased ammunition from a reputable manufacturer.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept major credit and debit cards, including Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover. Please note that due to payment processing policies in the firearms industry, some card issuers may occasionally flag transactions — if you experience an issue, contacting your bank usually resolves it quickly. If you have questions about payment options, reach out to us at sales@goodlandguns.com.
Can I split my payment between two cards or use a gift card?
At this time, our checkout system does not support split payments across multiple cards in a single transaction. If you have a store credit or a specific promotional code, those can typically be applied at checkout. Contact us directly at (805) 845-1406 if you need assistance working out a payment arrangement.
How do I check the status of my order?
Once your order ships, you'll receive a confirmation email with a tracking number you can use to monitor delivery progress. If you haven't received a tracking email within 3 business days of placing your order, please check your spam folder first, then reach out to us at sales@goodlandguns.com with your order number. We're happy to look into it for you.
