It is not compatible with carbine-length or commercial-spec buffer tubes. If you are unsure which tube your rifle has, measure the outer diameter: mil-spec tubes measure approximately 1.14" OD. No tools or permanent modifications are required for installation — it's a true drop-in replacement.
What can I store in the internal compartment, and how do I access it?
The MOE Rifle Stock features a generously sized internal storage compartment accessible by opening the hinged rubber butt-plate at the rear of the stock. It's well-suited for storing small essentials like a basic cleaning kit, spare batteries, a folded cleaning patch, or a multi-tool. The butt-plate closes securely to protect contents during normal use and transport.
Can I add a QD sling swivel to this stock, and what hardware do I need?
Yes — the MOE Rifle Stock is QD sling swivel ready. The stock includes knockout bosses on both the left and right sides at the front and rear that accept optional Magpul QD sling socket inserts (sold separately, such as the Magpul QD Sling Swivel). Simply remove the appropriate knockout boss with a punch and install the QD socket for tool-free, quick-detach sling attachment points. The integral 1.25" sling loop is also available out of the box for traditional sling attachment without any additional hardware.
