The DPX is loaded to +P pressure specifications, which exceeds standard 9MM Luger (SAAMI) pressure levels. Most modern 9MM pistols from reputable manufacturers — including Glock, SIG Sauer, Smith & Wesson, and Springfield Armory — are rated for +P ammunition. However, you should always consult your firearm's owner's manual before using +P loads, as older or budget pistols may not be rated for the higher pressure. Unlike traditional jacketed hollow points (JHP), which use a lead core wrapped in a copper jacket, the Barnes X-bullet is machined from a single piece of solid copper. Store your CorBon DPX ammunition in a cool, dry environment away from direct sunlight, extreme heat, and humidity. A dedicated ammo can or storage box in a climate-controlled space is ideal. When stored properly, modern centerfire pistol ammunition — including the DPX line — maintains reliable performance for 10 years or more. Avoid storing ammunition loose in areas subject to temperature swings, such as a vehicle glove box or an unconditioned garage, as moisture and heat can degrade primers and propellants over time.
