Goodland Guns' Statement re: City of Goleta Closed Meeting

We respectfully ask the City Council and the public to look at the facts rather than yielding to a vocal minority. There is resounding support for this relocation across Goleta. Of the 2,022 signatures on the opposing petition, nearly a third are not even from this community. In contrast, our active, local customer base—which includes law enforcement, engineers, doctors, and other well-respected members of Goleta—far exceeds the number of actual locals who signed that petition. People who quietly support a local business don't typically take time out of their busy schedules to sign petitions, but they vote with their patronage. 

To the parents who have expressed concern about our location: a federally licensed firearms dealership is one of the most highly regulated, monitored, and physically secure commercial spaces you can have in a neighborhood. Our inventory is locked down and heavily restricted. We are a safe, professional environment, and we pose zero hazard to anyone walking by.

Goodland Guns has strictly followed all local codes and regulations throughout this process, earning official city approval in June. It would be deeply unfortunate to see Goleta’s tax dollars wasted defending frivolous lawsuits when our community has such pressing infrastructure and road repair needs. We look forward to continuing to serve this community safely, legally, and responsibly.
